William Wentowski gets things done because he cares. He cares because he hears, and he listens. A lifelong resident of the 48th District, William has heard the challenges facing families in his neighborhood, his district and the state of Alabama. Like a lot of us, William believes it’s time the voters of District 48 elect a leader who’ll serve and support their best interests in Alabama’s House of Representatives.
A third-generation business leader, and co-owner of Homewood-based BTS Technologies, William has dedicated his career to helping businesses succeed and prosper in an increasingly complex and competitive environment. He knows what it takes to create meaningful job opportunities in today’s economy.
William is running for office to restore the kind of proactive, problem-solving mindset that’s been lacking in our district’s representation for far too long. He’s committed to bringing the same passion for public service that he invested in leading the Shades Valley Rotary Club as its past President. He’s committed to serving and supporting your best interests. Together, we can build a brighter future for District 48 — and all of Alabama!
Shades Valley Rotary’s signature project under William’s leadership as President was funding scholarships which enabled so many worthy high school graduates to continue their educations at 4-year and 2-year colleges — as well as trade schools. In 2024 alone, the club awarded $140,000 in scholarships.
Collectively, the club’s members volunteered over 500 work hours on service projects, including: Cleaning-up the Shades Creek Greenway. Distributing 300 holiday meals to area families. Supporting two blood drives. Sending two hundred disaster relief buckets to United Methodist Church On Relief (UMCOR). Sponsoring a Botanical Gardens intern. Gathering and donating clothes to homeless shelters. Championing two fundraisers that generated an additional $60,000 in donations to those causes.
An avid backpacker and hobbyist in many areas (including woodworking and home brewing), William is married to his high school sweetheart, Alaina Pineda. William and Alaina, parents of daughter Lydia and dog Mila, live in Vestavia. Away from the office, William can be found most weekends with his family — cooking, playing, and checking-off items on his never-ending To Do list.
Like his father and grandfather before him, William is a licensed pilot — and holds High Performance and Complex endorsements. He’s also a Licensed scuba diver, although he’ll admit he hasn’t taken the proverbial plunge in 20 years.
